Telus Health to launch virtual care app that provides symptom check and medical advice

Telus Health is partnering with U.K.-based Babylon Health to launch a virtual care app for the Canadian market. An English version will be produced first, with a French app available by 2019. Telus Health says the app will target customers in rural areas, those with mobility issues and patients without a primary physician. Through the technology, users will have access to a symptom checker that'll provide medical advice. The app isn’t a substitute for medical care, but is designed to give patients information, so they are more aware of potential diagnoses and the type of care they need.
