Residents at a Victoria retirement home have been testing the voice-activated assistance Alexa to help them with reminders to take medication and meals. Staff at Berwick Retirement Communities have been testing out the virtual assistant to keep seniors engaged, onboarding residents to demonstrate how the technology works. Staff have been testing Alexa for visually impaired residents and have placed the device in common areas of the facility. Officials say Alexa could become a standard feature in every suite when people move in.
