This column by retired health services executive and planner Jim Wolstenholme claims there has been no real healthcare progress because successive governments fail to make many of the necessary changes, even when they’re made aware of better approaches. Wolstenholme mentions the latest report from the New Brunswick Health Council describing the state of primary healthcare in the province. It concludes that pursuing the current path will not result in the magnitude of improvement that’s required. Wolstenholme concludes it’s necessary to carry out a transformation quickly to overcome the current inequities in access to primary healthcare.
