CMA calls for national seniors' health plan in wake of N.B. pilot project

While acknowledging that there is value to a seniors' health pilot project in New Brunswick, the Canadian Medical Association once again called for a national seniors' strategy to meet the increasing care needs of the demographic. New Brunswick has the highest proportion of seniors in Canada, so the CMA is hopeful insights from the three-year initiative can be scaled nationally. The association adds a pan-Canadian framework will be needed to address issues that span the continuum of care - from ERs, to long-term care and home care services.
