Association of Ont. community-based clinics changes name to focus on health equity

The Alliance for Healthier Communities includes over 100 community-governed primary healthcare organizations in Ontario. These include community health centres, aboriginal health access centres, community family health teams and nurse practitioner-led clinics. Formerly called the Association of Ontario Health Centres, the alliance says the name change reflects its commitment to health equity, particularly when one-in-five Ontarians face obstacles to primary care access.
