The Manitoba government decided to repeal a six-year-old program that provided health coverage to international post-secondary students and their dependents. The change will take effect with the start of the next school year in Sept., and is expected to save the province $3.1 million annually. Foreign students in Manitoba will have to get their own health insurance through a private carrier, which is estimated to cost between $2,400 and $3,600 per year.
