The report found 55.8% of New Brunswickers said they were able to see their family doctor within five days. According to the New Brunswick Health Council, this is the lowest percentage in seven years. But the percentage of those unable to see their doctor within five days fluctuated depending on the community. NBHC CEO Stephane Robichaud said it's normal to see fluctuations in the figures from community to community and from year to year, but they add up to the same result. Robichaud believes too many people can’t get timely access and until measures are in place that look at how to standardize the way doctors see their patients, it’s not expected that the situation will improve.
