The CMA notes that the 2018 Federal Budget includes seniors care initiatives that the association highlighted in its pre-budget consultation with Ottawa. The federal government is pledging $20 million over five years to the Public Health Agency of Canada to support community-based projects that address dementia. Meanwhile, a $75-million pilot project in New Brunswick will explore research initiatives to examine how seniors can be better supported in their home, in communities and at care facilities.
