Ontario chronic pain clinics test app to help patients manage their pain at home

Four chronic pain sites in Ontario will start using Manage My Pain, an app that can help patients with chronic pain better manage their symptoms and communicate with their physicians outside a clinic and in-between visits. Toronto General Hospital’s Transitional Pain Service was using this app since 2015 to help prevent chronic post-surgical pain in at-risk patients. The app’s supported by a project funded through the Government of Ontario’s Health Technologies Fund, a program to support development of made-in-Ontario health technologies. The results of the project will be detailed in a health economics report by the Centre for Excellence in Economic Analysis Research.
