A Saskatchewan physical therapist says the provincial government should implement multidisciplinary pain clinics, believing there's too much reliance on pharmacological remedies for relief from chronic pain. She admits that the main approaches to pain management (pathologic (use of medicine), physical, psychological and preventative) are offered through existing medical services but adds that a multidisciplinary clinic could address all of them in a common space. For its part, the Saskatchewan government says there are no plans for a standalone pain clinic, pointing to the LiveWell with Chronic Pain program, which is available in most regions of the province.
