U.S. hospitals partner with healthcare communications technology company on patient safety initiative

Executives from Geisinger, George Washington University Hospital and TigerText, which develops communication platforms for medical professionals, have created a multi-organization Patient Safety Committee for hospitals and health systems that use clinical communication and collaboration technologies. Said to be the first of its kind, the committee will work to identify best practices using communication tools and develop protocols for notifications, alerts, with the aim of creating a safer environment for the patient. The committee will meet every quarter.
