Nfld, Mental Health Commission of Canada partner to expand Memorial University's Stepped Care 2.0 e-mental health project

A Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) e-mental health demonstration project, taking place in Newfoundland and Labrador, will involve 15 primary healthcare clinics in an attempt to reduce wait times and address geographic barriers to care. The project will use the Internet and tools such as apps to help people get access to mental healthcare and bring services to people in remote and rural areas. The MHCC will oversee the scale up and evaluation of the Stepped Care 2.0 model, developed at Memorial University of Newfoundland. The model was developed for its students and led to the university's mental health services helping 15% more students and eliminate wait lists.
