N.L.'s Eastern Health pilots MyCCath IT system to accelerate referrals to cath lab

MyCCath is a web-based IT solution for clinicians at the Health Sciences Centre for referring patients to the cardiac catheterization laboratory services. Eastern Health expects the procedure will expedite referrals for procedures at the lab, which performs close to 6,000 procedures each year. The MyCCath pilot was developed with Dartmouth, N.S.-based MOBIA Technology Innovation. It was initially a pilot project at Eastern Health's Health Sciences Centre. MyCCath will be expanded to providers across the province in the coming months. Eastern Health hosts Hacking Health Cafés in collaboration with Memorial University and the NL Centre for Health Information to identify innovative healthcare solutions for the province’s senior population.
