The Scottish Government rolled out a public consultation on a new strategy to help people lose weight. As part of Scotland's new diet and obesity strategy, the government is looking to restrict the promotion and advertising of unhealthy foods and drinks high in fat, sugar and salt. The effort includes a $68-million investment to deliver almost 100,000 supported weight management interventions for people with, or at risk of, Type 2 diabetes. Government officials also want to see the broadcast of TV advertisements for unhealthy food banned before 9pm.
