A study from Arthritis Research Canada and UBC finds individuals who have rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have a 47% greater risk of developing COPD later on. The results confirm the link between chronic inflammation, a hallmark of RA, with COPD and that risk factors for lung disease should be addressed by clinicians following an RA diagnosis.
