Infoway says six provinces (Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Ontario) and 16 community pharmacy companies will use its e-prescribing service, PrescribeIT. The system, it states, will launch in various communities in Ontario in the coming weeks, with a rollout in Alberta in the fall. Negotiations are underway with the other provinces and territories, pharmacies and tech providers in an effort to nationalize PrescribeIT.
