CMA calls for national system to coordinate end-of-life care

The Canadian Medical Association contends the healthcare system needs to be redesigned to meet the needs of a growing senior population. It advocates a pan-Canadian strategy to address the complex and chronic conditions seniors face. Saying provincial policies are a patchwork, the CMA recommends a national coordinating system that encompasses all aspects of end-of-life care, including advance planning, palliative care and assisted dying to remove inequities from the system.
