The 77 positions include nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical radiation technologists, combined lab and x-ray technicians and phlebotomists, to fill existing part-time vacancies or establish new roles. The initiative is funded through approximately $6.2 million in annual savings from the administrative restructuring of the province's health authority, which redirected resources from senior leadership roles to clinical oversight. Building on earlier staffing efforts under the province’s Health Human Resources Action Plan, the new roles contributed to a 28% reduction in service disruption days.
