The 2024 Cross Canada Survey of Radon Exposure reveals that 10.3 million Canadians are living in homes with high radon levels, significantly increasing their risk of lung cancer. Nearly 18% of Canadian homes have radon levels at or above 200 Bq/m³, more than double the 7% reported in 2012. The report includes contributions from Health Canada and CAREX Canada. It highlights the distribution of radon exposure across different regions and building types, emphasizing the urgent need for action to reduce indoor radon levels.
