N.S. brings Travel Assistance Program to surgical patients

N.S. extended the In-province Travel Assistance Pilot Program to support surgical access until May 31, 2025. The program helps lower-income patients with travel and accommodation costs for surgeries and certain procedures within the province. The program aims to shorten wait times for patients willing to travel as well. Eligibility includes having a confirmed procedure date, being on the waitlist, residency in N.S. and meeting income criteria. Reimbursements are provided for transportation and accommodation, including support for an accompanying person if necessary.
