The Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) recognized the Provincial Health Services Authority in B.C. for introducing the BCEHS Clinical Hub in 2022. Designed to mitigate strain on ERs during the COVID and opioid crises, the initiative connects low-acuity and non-urgent patients to alternative care pathways, such as urgent and primary care centres, detox centers, mental health supports and palliative care. Also winning a Solventum Health Care Innovation Team Award from the CCHL is Unity Health Toronto for deploying over 50 AI and digital technologies aimed at reducing mortality, improving staffing and informing clinical decisions.
