Provincial summit on primary healthcare could lay groundwork for end of solo practices in N.B.

The summit, co-hosted by the Department of Health and the New Brunswick Medical Society, will take place at the end of May. Stakeholders will gather to discuss the transition to team-based primary care. No other details were provided but the medical society says it supports the move towards team-based care. About 74,000 New Brunswickers don’t have a primary care provider but of those, roughly 54,000 have access to primary care providers through NB Health Link, while they wait for a permanent provider.
