Canadians have low confidence their provincial governments will reduce ER wait times. Compared to Jan. 2023, a higher proportion would go to the U.S. to pay for more timely healthcare (+10 pts) or urgent care (+9 pts). Four in 10 believe provinces should get more healthcare dollars from the federal government, and they should decide how to spend this money. Forty-four percent of those in Atlantic Canada agree. Almost six in 10 feel provinces should have to show the federal government a plan on how they’ll deliver better care to get more federal dollars, with 56% of Atlantic Canadians supporting this.
