N.S. will join several other provinces in licensing and employing emergency medical responders. The healthcare professionals will assist paramedics, help with hospital patient transfers and assist in offload areas in ERs. The first graduates are expected to be on the job this summer. A bridging program will also be developed for emergency medical responders who want to become paramedics.
