Family Service Saskatchewan was chosen by the province to provide suicide postvention services. People affected by the loss of someone who died by suicide or survived with significant injury or trauma will have access to immediate psychological counselling. The government suggests suicide loss supports are an important prevention effort aimed at reducing the risk of future suicides due to unresolved grief or trauma. The program is expected to get underway early next year and will be delivered in-person in certain communities, plus virtually and over the phone.
