The survey found 51% of Canadians are unaware or unsure of how often they should get an eye exam, 35% would only book an eye exam if they experienced vision issues and 38% are overdue. While cost (27%) continues to be the number one reason why Canadians delay eye exams, other reasons include:

  • Cost of glasses or contact lenses (16%);
  • Too busy (13%); and
  • Fear of eye examination (4%).
