Canada’s nationwide crisis hotline, 988, will launch on Nov. 30, providing a free texting or calling service for Canadians struggling with mental health challenges. Ottawa is investing $156 million over three years to the CAMH for the helpline. The 988 suicide crisis line will be available in English and French, 24 hours a day and seven days a week. It’ll offer trauma-informed and culturally appropriate services by crisis responders.
