The study's conclusion people's mental health is bouncing back post-pandemic may be sending the wrong signal to politicians that less support is needed. McGill University suggested the pandemic had no significant impact on general mental health or anxiety and a marginal effect on depressive symptoms. The CMHA finds flaws in the study's methodology which underplays the effects of the pandemic on mental health. As well, the analysis largely ignored groups like 2SLGBTQ+, adolescents and youth, as well as those whose distress didn't progress to a clinical condition during the pandemic.
