A Leger study explored Canadians’ attitudes, utilization, perceptions and expectations around digital health privacy. Highlights include:
- Three in 10 respondents say their perception of privacy of their personal health information (PHI) doesn’t have any impact on their willingness to use digital health tools;
- Fifty-six percent believe their healthcare privacy rights are adequately protected by law. This is even higher among those who have a family doctor;
- Respondents have a high level of trust in healthcare providers to keep their personal health information safe and secure; and
- Most respondents would be willing to share their personal health information for secondary purposes.
