CPhA says 94% of Canadians agree governments need to expand, fund community-based care at pharmacies

A survey found 90% of Canadians think pharmacists can address gaps in care caused by the shortage of healthcare providers. When it comes to the health services that pharmacists could provide, Canadians see a larger role when it comes to:

  • Vaccinations (61%);
  • Prescribing for common ailments/conditions (53%);
  • Testing and lab services (47%);
  • Contraception prescribing (44%);
  • Chronic disease management (42%); and
  • Opioid management (35%).
