A training program for emergency medical technicians (EMTs) aimed at putting more ambulances on N.B. roads will begin this fall. Ambulances on non-urgent transfers will be staffed with one EMT and one paramedic, freeing up the second paramedic for another 911 call. Medavie HealthEd will offer the first nine-week English-language training at its Moncton campus this fall, with the first graduates entering the workforce before year’s end. CCNB will offer the French-language course, with the first cohort of students expected to begin training this winter.
