The Four Arrows Regional Health Authority mobile addiction team includes an office assistant for data collection, a counselor, a peer worker and a nurse with expertise in harm reduction. The pilot addresses problematic substance use in remote Man. First Nations. The program will create in-community services and build capacity for local primary healthcare providers to manage ongoing treatment of all substance use disorders, including the use of Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT). Most interventions like OAT aren’t accessible to people living in remote Indigenous communities.
