The project, which delivered portable x-ray machines to a Cree Nation in northern Sask., is said to be a first in Canada. The company behind the machines says a lot of these remote communities never had x-ray. Patients usually needed to travel several hours for the tests, while some won’t travel. The preventative health manager for the area says with this AI platform, healthcare staff can provide instant diagnosis and interventions to these isolated communities. The goal is to expand the project to other communities. The technology's the first AI algorithm and radiology ever approved by Health Canada.
