The Nova Scotia chapter of the Atlantic Canadian Hosts for Ukraine is looking to help those fleeing the war in Ukraine get settled in the province. The group has had several inquiries from trained healthcare professionals about working in the province. For its part, NHS is looking to recruit Ukrainians to help fill a variety of roles in its healthcare system - but filling those job vacancies is a complicated process. Nova Scotia Health has over 2,100 healthcare job openings. In P.E.I., a Ukrainian couple trained as physicians in their country is now working as resident care workers at a LTC home. The couple is also faced with the long-term and expensive process of confirming their diplomas.
