B.C. patients given online access to lab results

British Columbians now have access to lab results collected from inpatient and outpatient settings, any health authority and from some private labs via the provincial government's Health Gateway. The website's a central point of access for lab results, medication, health visits and immunization history. Clinicians worked with the Health Gateway team to ensure appropriate guidance is given to patients when viewing their lab results. Doctors BC, who provides strategic guidance to the Ministry of Health, expects broader lab results on the site will support quality care by allowing patients to share their health history with providers across healthcare settings and teams.
