The survey, conducted on the second anniversary of the pandemic, suggests 40% of people aged 18 to 34 agree their mental health is at a breaking point. A clinical psychologist explains COVID-19 impacts were felt more acutely by young adults who had important life events interrupted. As well, the cohort was exposed to existential danger at a much younger age than earlier generations. The poll also finds that one-third of young adults would seek mental healthcare if it was readily available, while over half are concerned that COVID-19 will continue to negatively impact their futures.
