Health Canada will contribute $2.3 million over four years towards an opioid stewardship program in Saskatchewan. The project aims to raise awareness and develop new approaches to chronic pain management by promoting appropriate opioid prescribing practices and developing educational materials for practitioners. Health Canada is confident that strategies developed in Saskatchewan to increase engagement of primary care providers, dentists, etc., will be applied across Canada.
