A St. Michael's-Providence clinical collaboration in Toronto could double the number of pressure wound surgeries performed at St. Michael's each year. Providence staff offer enhanced knowledge to provide rehabilitation for patients who undergo the surgery. Collaborating with Providence as the rehabilitation site means patients will be provided access to interdisciplinary care needed for a healthy recovery from surgery, says Janeth Velandia, nurse practitioner for the Wound Care Team at St. Michael's Hospital.
